  • The Aerospace Group Central Engineering organization of Parker Hannifin seeks a summer engineering intern in the Irvine, CA area.
  • Under general supervision, performs duties utilizing knowledge and skills commensurate with the requirements of this position. In this hands-on position, you will work in a team environment with engineers of various disciplines to ensure successful product launch and support for Parker Aerospace. Assignments are intended to provide entry-level experience and training related to the degree discipline and in Parker business structure, operational functions, customers, and products. Responsibilities
  • Work with MATLAB / Simulink to model dynamical systems and predict performance analysis.
  • Hands on testing of electromechanical and electrohydraulic systems.
  • Complete well-defined work assignments and actively participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments.
  • Learn and become proficient at systems and procedures applicable to work assignments and functional area.
  • Maintain communication with team leader to include feedback on assignments, scheduling, and program improvements.
  • Immediate work direction may be assigned to an experienced team member.
  • Perform other related responsibilities. Qualifications
  • Enrolled in university coursework toward a college degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of engineering principles, concepts, and techniques.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, during the summer and possibly during the academic year.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interface with both internal and external customers.
  • Attention to detail and precision to assure standards are met timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of administrative, technical, and manufacturing assignments.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all contacts.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
  • Other Skills:
