The dispatcher acts as a liaison between various service providers in SIRVA's supply chain. Dispatchers are assigned a group of van line Agents and drivers and ensure they are compliant with all operational rule sets. They are responsible for solving problems with assigned loads and maintaining data integrity across all operating platforms.

Responsibilities

-Answer inbound automatic call distributor (ACD) calls and emails to provide customer service and conflict resolution to our agent network and drivers. This may include shipment updates, relaying orders, weight disputes, service authorizations, shipment overflows and trip delays. Understand and apply company policy to facilitate solutions promoting network efficiency and excellent customer service.

-Monitor and maintain the data integrity of each trip issued. The dispatcher will ensure assigned loads stay on schedule and will look for opportunities to add additional shipments to a driver's trip considering load and delivery dates, space available and geographies.

-Evaluate processes within Operations to improve efficiencies for all members of business segment. Suggest improvements to management and follow through with implementation which may include training of fellow employees.

-Other duties and special projects as assigned.   May include to working with other departments to investigate accident reports and resolve customer service issues.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of transportation experience (household goods, general freight, rail, etc.) or experience demonstrating the skills below

  • Required Skills : Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, teamwork, decision making, ability to work under pressure while still maintaining a high level of professionalism, problem solving, attention to detail, computer skills, organization and a basic understanding of U.S. and Canadian geography

  • Education : High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred
